What is Medical Hypnotherapy?

Medical Hypnotherapy is a modern-day science. It makes use of the latest research and techniques to mobilize inner resources for prevention of disease, acceleration of healing and pain control. Medical hypnotherapy is a perfect complement to the conventional medicine and other healing arts services available today.

Hypnotherapy utilizes the power of the subconscious mind. Every system, organ and gland of the body is affected by the subconscious mind. The mind is the cause, the body is the effect.

Medical Hypnotherapy removes the psychological barriers to wellness and frees the body to heal itself.

Both the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association recognize hypnotherapy as a valid and very useful treatment modality.

Combined with the medical treatment you already have in place, hypnotherapy can help you feel healthy and energized again… quickly.

How Does Medical Hypnotherapy Work?

Medical hypnotherapy helps the overwhelming majority of people…

  • Reduce or eliminate their pain and suffering
  • Speed recovery from injury
  • Heal faster
  • Regain health from disease
  • Prevent future illness
  • Avoid potential complications and infections

People and patients respond better to medical treatments and therapies with complimentary medical hypnotherapy. This is because Medical Hypnotherapy creates and promotes healthy and healing beliefs and behaviors.

  • Creates positive healing attitude and environment
  • Reduces immunosuppressive stress
  • Eliminates unhealthy attitudes that hinder healing
  • Reveals inner intelligence, guidance and intuition to benefit healing process
  • Facilitates forgiveness

What Clients Are Saying About Medical Hypnotherapy

Pain Management

"In 2003 I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis - a disease that attacks the joints and was causing severe pain throughout my body. Although I am not a big fan of medications, they were a God-send at that point in my life.

It's Aug 2008 and I'm proud to say that I've been medication-free for over a year. However, I was still experiencing periodic pain that moved around my body - nothing debilitating like before but just enough that I always knew it was there.

I have done extensive natural therapies to eliminate these pains but it was only when I attended a hypnotherapy workshop by Carin Haen that I've gotten my life back completely. In one evening workshop I was able to take what she taught me and put it to work in my life, transforming my internal picture of what was happening within my body.

Thanks Carin for such an incredible gift!"
- Debbie, age 42, Business Consultant

Post Surgical Recovery

"Being proud to have never broken a bone in my 42 years, I ended up fracturing the neck of my right femur bone in a bicycle accident in June of 2008. Part of the surgery involved the surgeons making a 3" vertical incision in the center of the top of my right thigh, which involved detaching and reattaching one of my quad muscles.

At the point where the quad muscle was re-joined, there was a definite bulging of the incision area and pain related to the bulge, which was a cause for concern.

After just 2 hypnotherapy sessions, with the primary focus being on the mind-body connection to increase blood flow to that area, my incision smoothed out and flattened back to normal and the pain also subsided!

In addition, I have found that those 2 hands-on hypnotherapy sessions, along with the consistent use of my personalized hypnotherapy CD, helped to support my expectations of complete and total recovery (avoiding a hip replacement) and assisted me in maintaining my confidence and optimism during the healing process.

Not only am I pleased with my progress, but my doctor brags about me to his colleagues! Thank you, 'Carin Haen Hypnotherapy', for furthering my belief in the gift of hypnotherapy and getting me back on my bike after just 3 months!"
- Susan, age 42, Facilities Manager

Healthy Future

"Carin Haen's hypnotherapy helped me create a more positive mindset about my prospects for a healthy future. This change is crucially important to me because I know that attitude and thoughts impact our physical health."

- Kay, age 57, Breast Cancer Survivor

What Professionals Are Saying About Medical Hypnotherapy

"Hypnosis is one of the most misunderstood of all medical therapies, yet one of the most valuable."
- Larry Dossey, MD. Author of The Extraordinary Healing Power of Ordinary Things

"Because the mind has been and always will be a powerful resource, clinical hypnotherapy supercedes fads or trends in medicine; it should be a mainstay of modern healthcare."

- Dr. Robert E. Sapien, MD FAAP CHt. Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division and Associate Professor, University Hospital, Albuquerque, NM.

"I've recommended hypnotherapy to help ease chronic pain, lessen the side effects of chemotherapy, alleviate symptoms of autoimmune disease, andcounteract anxiety and sleep disorders. Hypnotherapy can also be used to improve performance skills, as a form of analgesia or sedation for medical and dental procedures--even to stop hemorrhaging in accident victims. In general, I believe that no condition is out of bounds for trying hypnotherapy on."

- Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. From: Self Healing, Creating Natural Health for Your Body and Mind.

"In some cases, hypnosis works as well or better than pain-relieving medications. Hypnosis has been shown to help relieve severe, acute pain associated with childbirth, burns, surgical procedures or dental pain. It can be especially helpful for people who can't take pain medications or for whom medications aren't effective. Hypnosis can also be a component of therapy for other wide-ranging medical conditions, including reducing anxiety before surgery, symptoms of skin inflammation (dermatitis), and asthma symptoms, as well as to aid in smoking cessation."
- Mayo Clinic Study, April 2007

"To understand therapeutic hypnosis is to comprehend the very nature of human miracles. While conventional medicine saves lives daily, by using hypnotherapy, even more can be done to relieve suffering, speed recover from injury, regain health from disease, and prevent illness."

- Tim Simmerman From: Medical Hypnotherapy, 2007
